The Graduate Program in English promotes several regular publications, involving faculty members and students. Below, the main publications are listed.

Ilha do Desterro Journal

PPGI faculty members are also editors of the journal Ilha do Desterro Journal, a widely circulated journal since 1980 and a reference in the areas of Language Studies and Literary and Cultural Studies (Qualis A1).

Ilha do Desterro publishes original papers and reviews in the areas of English, Literature and Cultural Studies, with the main goal of circulating the results of academic research in these areas (https://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/desterro). In 2022, the journal achieved Q1 index at the SCImago Scientific Journal/Scopus ranking in 2022, the highest indexing international category.

Série ARES

Advanced Research in English Series – ARES is a collection of books by the Graduate Program in English – PPGI, organized by faculty members with publication by demand and available by free access.  The collection’s scope is located in the two areas of concentration of the Program: Language Studies and Literary and Cultural Studies.

Série Estudos Culturais

The Estudos Culturais Series is a collection of books by the Graduate Program in English – PPGI, organized by faculty members, with publication by demand and available in print by Editora Insular. The series’ scope is located in the Program’s area of concentration Literary and Cultural Studies.

PGI News

PGI News is a bimonthly newsletter, organized and authored by the Program’s Master’s and Doctoral degree candidates, avaliable freely online. The newsletter has several sections, such as In the News, Critical Review, Creative Corner, and works to disseminate information related to the Program’s two areas of concentration: Language Studies and Literary and Cultural Studies. PPGI’s faculty members are also editors of the Estudos Anglo-Americanos Journal.

The Estudos Anglo-Americanos Journal publishes papers and reviews that promote academic research produced in the areas of Linguistic Studies and English Language Literary Studies, with emphasis on Applied Linguistics and English Language Literature (https://reaa.ufsc.br/index.php/reaa).
