Biodata:
Maria João, an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, has a distinguished career in economics and international relations. She holds a degree in Economics with a specialization in Management and a Master’s in European Economics, both from the University of Coimbra. Throughout her career, she has taken on significant leadership roles, including serving as Vice-President of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra from 2009 to 2013 and currently as Pro-President for International Relations, a role she has held since 2017 and was reappointed to for the 2021-2025 term. Maria João has been pivotal in advancing the institute’s internationalization efforts, spearheading successful projects such as the creation of Portugal’s first Erasmus consortium. Her work focuses on integrating language and translation into international projects, exemplified by her contributions to initiatives like UNIgreen, where she coordinates the institute’s international relations efforts to foster global collaboration.
